Condition assessments are relative to the age of the garment. Soil, wrinkles, or anythihng that can be remedied by cleaning are not considered flaws. Significant flaws that we beleive affect appearance, wearablity or value will be mentioned-minor flaws including sucessful repairs or signs of wearibilty or are only visible upon close inspection will be deemed insignificant flaws as we beleive they do not significantly affect the appearance of the item. Vintage and antique clothing is never showroom new. Most garments we carry have been previously owned and worn. You are most welcome to ask me any questions about this as I have seen most everything! Age,condition, fabric content and decriptive information is an opinion only. These costs are yours- keep in mind you will need alterations even with custom made dresses -as custom dress are made in general pattern sizing. I have no control over what your local person charges, or why they may suggest the need for something done with your item. I am never responsible for alteration costs, as these can vary widely according to your local. Very few people are the perfect size 8! This is the way it is at all Bridal Boutiques. So count on having some kind of alterations when you have your gown in person.
This is why all wedding gowns and formal wear needs to be altered- to nip in and take out in particular to the individuals body IN PERSON. All clothing is made for the most part in generalities- size proportions are general. Every one's unique body styles and issues are different. I have fulfilled my agreement by making the gown for you to the best of my ability. Be sure of your purchase as I DO NOT HAVE RETURNS FOR ANY REASON. Not liking how a gown looks on you after the purchase is not a reason to ask for a return. When purchasing a custom dress it is the buyers responsibility to know if a particular style or silhouette will be complimentary to their body type. This is not an acceptable reason for returning a custom item. Please understand that although precise and standardized procedures are followed in order to size each garment, there is still the chance that additional alterations may be needed to be done locally. Being in the Vintage and Bridal business for many years I have vast experience with these issues, you or your seamstress can always contact me w/ questions or concerns before your purchase and you will be honestly answered.Īs with most Formalwear and Bridal fashions, alterations are usually need to customize the general sizing & measurements gowns are made in, for a perfect fit. There are ways to do it, but an experienced seamstress might be needed. It can be complicated to camouflage old seams. Do not order gowns that are too small for you, vintage items can easily be taken in, but not as easily taken out. Measurements of gowns are made with the item laying flat from side seam to side seam. Newly made gowns may have loose or missing beads.
If you are a true vintage aficionado you understand and accept this. You are purchasing them regardless of these flaws. If you purchase vintage you must understand these items can be up to 100 years old, may have normal wear & tear, and flaws,rips, spots,etc.
